2023 AGM (for the year 2022)
- Date: Sunday 11 June 2023
- Time: 3.30pm
- Location: Haverings Girl Guide Association, Lancing Road, LU2 8JN
We’ll confirm the meeting agenda closer to the time, but generally, it will include annual updates from the committee and most importantly, committee elections and motions.
As a tenant plot holder, you have the right to:
- stand for election or propose and second someone else
- put forward a motion
- vote on motions and for committee positions
Call for committee nominations
Could you consider standing for a position? The committee works hard to help the association fulfil its purpose of letting people experience the joy of growing fruit and veg.
We meet about 6 times a year and run the day-to-day work of the association. Depending on the role, tasks include collecting the rents, managing the waiting list, and liaising with Luton Council.
The positions are:
- Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Committee Officers (4x, includes 3 helpers and 1 web editor)
You can nominate yourself, but you need someone to second you. Download the form below or pick up a copy in the clubhouse on site.
Completed forms must reach the Secretary 7 days* before the AGM.
*Normally 14 days, but changed to 7 days for the 2022 AGM due to Covid related issues.

Call for motions – is there an issue you want to be voted on at the AGM?
Is there something in the way we do things, that you want us to change? You can propose a motion that we can vote on at the AGM. Before you submit a motion, you should check what the current policy on something is. Your motion should include:
- Outline of the situation.
- Why do you think the SRAA should change its policy?
- What action do you want us to take?
Download the form below or pick up a copy in the clubhouse on site. To be valid, a motion needs at least one seconder.
Completed forms must reach the Secretary 7 days* before the AGM.
*Normally 14 days, but changed to 7 days for the 2022 AGM due to Covid related issues.
