2025-2026 Annual General Meeting

28 June 2026 at 2.30pm

  • 2:30pm – Social gathering: Bring food to share. Tea and coffee provided by Janet.
  • 3:00pm – AGM: Committee elections and motions
  • AGM will be followed by an informal Q & A session and chat.

Location: Meeting hut on the Stockingstone site
(we’ve got gazebos in case of rain)

Note: Date and time and location will be confirmed closer to the event.

The AGM will include annual updates from the committee and most importantly, the elections of a new committee and any motions.

As a tenant plot holder, you can:

  • stand for election onto the committee
  • propose and second someone else for a position
  • put forward a motion
  • vote on motions and for committee positions

What the committee does

Could you consider standing for a position? The committee works hard to help the association fulfil its purpose of letting people experience the joy of growing fruit and veg.

We meet about 6 times a year and run the day-to-day work of the association. Depending on the role, tasks include collecting the rents, managing the waiting list, and liaising with Luton Council.

You can stand or nominate someone for the position of

  • Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Committee Officers (4x, includes 3 helpers and 1 web editor)

You can nominate yourself, but you need someone to second you. Download the form or pick up a copy in the club house on our site.
Completed forms must reach the Secretary 14 days before the AGM.

Call for motions – is there an issue you want to be voted on at the AGM?

Is there something in the way we do things, that you want us to change? You can propose a motion that we can vote on at the AGM. Before you submit a motion, you should check what the current policy on something is. Your motion should include:

  1. Outline of the situation.
  2. Why do you think the SRAA should change its policy?
  3. What action do you want us to take?
